If this thread makes more people do nicer things, even if just to post it, then more power, ne? XD

I do a lot of free droknars forge runs. But one time I got somone who was obviously a young kid, they were very nice, but definately young of age. And when we got to Droks, he looked at the armor and I could just picture his face in real life, what a sad day to see that he would need a lot of gold to afford the Knights armor.

I told him Gladiators was better, but he wanted the knights armor because it had the word "knight" in it. He was bummed so I gave him 30K and made sure he had enough money to get all the materials and craft the armor and have some money leftover to get other stuff. I waited till he was done crafting, he showed off his armor, and I told him to have fun and enjoy it.

He was very very happy with me and I was happy for him because he looked like a cool "knight" in his new armor.

Sometimes the youngsters know how to play this game better than those of us who play it more competitively. I thought it was cool that he insisted on knights armor, not knowing or even caring about the stats of other armors.

EDIT: I did have to put that fool on my ignore list because he was an annoying little brat and wouldnt stop asking me for an Icy Dragon Sword.

I do things all the time. I've given my sons over 500k in ten months. I've given my guildies a total of 300k in that time. I've given Golds and Greens to many low level people. I've given free runs from Ascalon to Drok's. I've run/soloed the first 6 missions and bonuses for people I don't know. I've helped others to do all of the piken quests for free. I've donated cash to low level non guild affiliated people.

When I was brand new, several people I didn't know helped me immensely, this is my way of paying it back. I don't regret any of the thigns i've done. I work my butt off to help, I farm all the time, and now i'm doing long runs for big bucks. In factions I stood in Shing Jea Monastery by the storage area and gave away gold to people who needed to open storage. In one afternoon I loaned out money and came out 5,900 on the plus side when generous people paid me back more than I loaned out. How can you go wrong helping out new players and people in need.

I ran a group of 3 people from ascalon area to Amnoon Oasis, getting every possible city/mission spot along the way!

For me - it's been the BRA giveaways: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s....php?t=3050799

We've done these since the beta events in Prophcies and I always get a kick out of helping new folks and giving out gifts to ppl that apperciate them. It's always such a good and friendly atmosphere during the events - always alot of fun and always reminds me of the prophcies beta. Just nice to have ppl all in a good mode for a small period of time.

(and me either ^_^)

~~~~~~~~~~
Given out lots of gold, weapons, items, materials..... Sometimes I will sit in Ascalon D5 which used to be where most of the newbies would be dropped after presear - and help them along, by answering questions and giving them little tips and such..... I kept a character in presear for the sole purpose of helping newbs.
Got drafted into a quest that WASN'T Villany of Galrath and stayed with the party to help them finish, even tho I was highly tempted to just stand there and do nothing!
The worst part of it, is that I make a ton of friends who either never come back after 2wks or I get so many I can't keep track of who is who.
(I never give runs to newbies, they have to build character by working at it IMO.)
I like helping others and that isn't a secret. I raised half our guild from mere pups and I am proud that they are doing so well! I know that they are proud to have me as a friend and thats all I ever want out of what I do!
I can't tell you how greatful I am to those that helped me when I was a newb and most of them either said no prob or the best advice: do the same for someone else when you can!
Personally I think thats the point of charity, so that they will see that kindness has its own rewards and pass it on later themselves!
On Christmas Eve, in Deldrimor War Camp, I gave out all my unwanted greens, rares, 60k and 29 ectos.
I actually regret it because for about a month after people just whispered: "got any free stuff?" and similar questions.
I like to talk to new players, and help them set up their skill bars. I am good at most classes, and understand how skills work together and with the area they are playing. I no longer collect a lot of stuff, so I no longer give a lot away. I got frustrated by people asking for things months later. One kid I helped will still look me up 6 months later to see if I will give him anything.
Same as I.
Selling 4 Celestial Sigil (Keep 1 because I created my guild yesterday) to the first new guilds I saw. Easy way to get the build instead HA or buying the Sigil at the trader.
I gave a guildie 5k for capture sigs so he could do SS or MM (when offering didnt practically kill you). I also gave him like 70 steel for his assn armor during the steel price spike.
Actually when i was giving him the stuff, i accidentally gave it to someone else (oops) and they gave it back to me rather than just walking away with it. There are lots of nice players, there are just too many vocal jerks.
